1,000 Tons/Year Silicon-Carbon Anode Material Plant Planned in Yichun, Jiangxi for Lithium Batteries

The environmental impact assessment notice was released on June 24, marking an early step in the construction process. Silicon-carbon anodes are a key technology for improving lithium battery energy density, which supports longer range electric vehicles and better grid storage. This project adds to China's growing supply chain for advanced battery materials. While the scale is modest at 1,000 tons per year, it signals continued investment in next-generation anode production outside of traditional graphite-based routes.
